Gill to make his debut in Wales

Turbo failure ends Naren’s hopes in Japan

Naren Kumar’s hopes of scoring points in the Rally of Japan went up in smoke after a turbo failure forced him to pull out of the World Rally Championship (PWRC) event in Hokkaido on Saturday. Poor luck continued to dog the Team Sidvin India driver as he encountered the problem in stage 13 (Kamuycep 1 - 33.71km) after he had comfortably finished the previous two stages on day two. Naren pulls out

Team Sidvin’s Naren Kumar retired from the World Rally Championships’ Rally of Japan at Sapporo on Saturday, after stalling in stage 13 with a turbo failure. He had begun day 2 from eighth place. Last stage drama hands Hanninen P-WRC win in Japan

In a classic piece of P-WRC drama, Juho Hanninen became the surprise winner of the Production Car World Championship battle in Japan today after a mechanical problem robbed 18-year-old Evgeniy Novikov of the class lead on the last stage. Team Sidvin India’s Naren Kumar got off to a flying start in the Rally of Japan, roaring to the third position in the rally opener stage before settling for an overall eighth place at the end of day one of the World Rally Championship (Production class) event.
